Six years ago, he was credited with pioneering a genre of YouTube videos that revolve around costly stunts. His main YouTube channel, "MrBeast", is the fifth-most-subscribed on the platform. Donaldson began posting videos to YouTube in 2012, at 13 years old under the username "MrBeast6000" and his initial content included everything from "Let's Plays to "videos estimating the riches of other YouTubers." He became a viral sensation in 2017 when he released his "Counting to 100,000" video, which was able to receive thousands of views in only a few days.
